| looks good. just a few suggestions though.
When you copy and paste a full size trailer logo, open the logo as a separate image in paint.net
take the dotted rectangle tool and measure the area of the trailer surface you are working on (like the door or the side panel)
resize the logo to that size, then copy and paste it. you can do some final stretching of the image and stuff at this point
By doing this the images are better quality and tend to be sharper and look less distorted.
Also, number the different parts of the paint skin, go in game and take some screenshots to see where the numbers fall. That way you can paint things different colors on the same skin and have an idea of where it will show up without going back and forth into the game that much.
Now that you cant paint a trailer, try painting a truck. Start with the bodypaint01.dds file on the t2000. its a nice shade of bluegreen that is easy to see on the black background and you can see the mirror paint etc. its a guessing game for like the first ten you paint.
Then try a p379. remember the truck and sleeper on these trucks are different paint files. Like "bodypaint01.dds" and "bodypaint01s.dds" with the 01 being the cab and the 01s being the sleeper. try lining up pin striping on those.
Not picking retro, im glad to see you guys painting. and they look good.
Once you guys feel really comfortable with painting this files. ill show you how to paint your gauges which is pretty easy, but then the hard part begins.
There is an imbedded image called the "alpha image" that shows up in DXTBMP in the top right corner: this is the shiny part of the image, that will set how much reflection/shine your stuff has. The chrome trailers are actually painted black in the paint files. but there are about 12 steps to merging the .dds file and the alpha image.
If your confused its ok- im still confused by it sometimes lol | |
